B&B Alla Porta Di Sotto

The Bed and Breakfast Alla Porta di Sotto is located in the centre of Fivizzano, an ancient village in Lunigiana in the province of Massa Carrara (Tuscany), within the Medicean walls built by Cosimo de' Medici in 1540.
The village lies on a green hill, which is framed to the west by the beautiful Apuan Alps.
The B&B is situated in a context of buildings that seem to have been designed by the hand of the same architect, included in the historical centre and considered to be of great artistic and historical value.
The B&B is one of the first buildings one encounters after passing through the arch of Porta di Sotto (also known as Porta Sarzanese); continuing on one reaches Piazza Medicea. Here dominates the elegant fountain erected by Cosimo III, one of the many testimonies left by the de' Medici family in their palaces, churches and monuments, so much so that Fivizzano was defined by the poet Giosuè Carducci: "beautiful corner of Florence".
The B&B Alla porta di Sotto overlooks the historic Piazza Garibaldi, opposite the Porta Sarzanese also known as the "Porta di sotto", hence its name.
The late 19th century building, in Art Nouveau style, has been completely restored.
The three rooms are named after the three ancient entrances to the village: Porta Modenese, Porta Nuova and Porta Sarzanese.
Two rooms are on the first floor, one on the second, connected to a magnificent terrace. They offer all comforts: private bathroom, shower with cervical waterfall, air conditioning, smart TV and internet connection throughout.
The three rooms are furnished in period style; in the bathrooms, the bases have been created in "cocciopesto", an ancient and natural technique that some local craftsmen have recovered.
