In a small hamlet in the heart of the Apuan Alps, in Pruno in northern Tuscany, is this small, family-run hostel, ideal for school groups and hikers.
It has 23 beds in large, bright rooms with 4-6 beds: family rooms and rooms with bunk beds. Each room has its own private bathroom (inside or nearby). There is a bright dining room, a relaxation room with video projector and a wide selection of books to read and exchange, table tennis, and a garden with barbecue and tables.
At Pania Forata, special attention is paid to the choice of products: local food and craft products are preferred, encouraging local micro-activities, organic, vegetable and biodegradable soaps, coffee, tea, wholemeal sugar, cocoa, fair trade chocolates.
Silvia and Alessandro, "hosts" of the Pania Forata Hostel, are environmental and excursion guides of the Apuan Alps Park; they will be able to accompany you in the discovery of this wonderful place.
